Teleradiology Framework

System Integrated for Teleradiology

SIT covers all the Teleradiology Business needs: hardware, systems and services
The framework is based in five modules: the data (clinical and management), the communication for the DICOM files (Router and Broker), the web application layer (Clinical and Management), the security layer assuring the data exchange, which will cover both the access level and transactional level and the system management and monitoring module to support and improve the efficiency of the system.

SIT Framework

Five Modules to define the Power of the Platform:

Data Storage: based on the universal PostgreSQL database, in a multi-instances system to create as many storage as systems required by the platform.
Communication Layer: managing the data transmission and routing of DICOM images and clinical information on the platform.
Application Module: set of applications, Java-based based engine, to support clinical (RIS, EHR and MPI) and management systems(ERP technical and management) in a web friendly user interface or portal.
Security layer: guarantee the accesses, data and communications between the different parts of the Framework.
Management and Monitoring module: activity monitor and configuration tools to improve the platform and supervise the quality control of the data transfer and manipulation.

mPACS Storage

m-PACS is based on a collection of open source applications and utilities oriented to the Health sector, contains the DICOM system, HL7 services and interfaces required to provide storage, restoration and workflows for healthcare environments. m-PACS allows to integrate modalities, post-processing stations (such as Osirix) and external environments for the management and visualization of images in DICOM format.

Communication Layer

BroDP allow the exchange of data (images, work lists, reports) between the Facilities (EMR for demographic data, RIS for the definition/synchronization of worklists, PACS for the DICOM format of studies carried out including secondary images, post-processes and reports in DICOM SR), the main storage system (m-PACS), and the different modalities belonging to the SIT platform.

EDI router have the purpose of being able to redirect the data that circulate in S.I.T. in a secure and efficient way, and the user can define the desired communications through the communication node management interface (such as information systems, storage systems, and modalities) using an automation system for the identification of target systems (Facilities) using GPS technology, guaranteeing the communications and the parameterization of the router of the mobile devices according to their geographical location.

RIS Advanced System

The Radiological Information System RIS controls the activity of studies conducted by the different radiologists operating remotely on the platform in a secure and optimized process.

Web User Interface with an Advanced worklist management system: Automatic pre-assignment of studies to one or several radiologists based on their origin and type of studies, generation of personalized job lists per user, reassignment of studies, generation management times for reports, organization of the work list through control of priorities, allocation of response times for the generation of studies and more.
Integration with external Information Systems (RIS, EHR, PACS) by standards (HL7, DICOM SR, etc.).
Dynamic report generator: Use of informed templates, integrating demographic data of studies, conversion to DICOM SR for sending to the source PACS as well as standard formats (PDF, XML and MS Word).
Statistical generator: Which allows to define the activity by center / project, by types of studies, by radiologist, by established diagnoses, etc.

Clinical Data Management

The Clinical Management System CMS manage the activity of request and execution of the studies, carrying out the demographic and medical data of patients to elaborate the report using:

Agenda: calendar based on business rules and criteria.
Patient management: identification through MPI to identify the origin of the patients as well as the relevant clinical information associated.
Order Entry: Order control and triage functionality based on business rules.
Activity and Incidence Controller: Monitor to control and improve the efficiency of the system.
